To further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries of Latin America, and Spain and Portugal.  ALA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to ALA members. ALA was established as Asociación Latinoamericana de Archivos in Lima, Peru, on 6 April 1973. ALA joined ICA as regional branch in 1976 (Resolution 5, ICA General Assembly, Washington, USA, 28 September 1976). ALA operates under the Constitution of the Association latinoamericana de archivos adopted in Madrid, Spain, 1982 (published in ALA, special issue, 1986).

To further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within the Caribbean region. CARBICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to CARBICA members. CARBICA operates under the Constitution of the Caribbean Archives Association adopted by the second Caribbean Archives Conference, Guadeloupe and Martinique, 1975 (published in Caribbean Archives, no. 4, 1976).

To further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within the East Asian region. EASTICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to EASTICA members. EASTICA operates under its own constitution adopted at the Branch's inaugural conference, Beijing, 1993.

To further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within Eurasia. EURASICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to EURASICA members. EURASICA operates under its own constitution adopted at the Branch's inaugural conference, Moscow, 2000.

The North American Archival Network has been officially launched as a Branch during the 15th Session of the General Assembly of the ICA in Vienna in 2004

To further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within the Southeast Asian region. SARBICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to SARBICA members. SARBICA operates under the Constitution of the Southeast Asian Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives, adopted at the branch's inaugural conference, Kuala Lumpur, 1968 (published in Southeast Asian Archives, vol. 1, 1968).

WARBICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to WARBICA members. WARBICA operates under the Constitution of the West African Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (WARBICA), adopted at the branch's inaugural conference, Dakar, 1977 (published in West African Archivist, no. 1, 1984).
