Regional Branches
Members of ICA wishing to further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within their particular geographical area, may group themselves into regional branches.
![]() | ALA - Latin America - Asociación latinoamericana de archivosTo further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries of Latin America, and Spain and Portugal. ALA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to ALA members. ALA was established as Asociación Latinoamericana de Archivos in Lima, Peru, on 6 April 1973. ALA joined ICA as regional branch in 1976 (Resolution 5, ICA General Assembly, Washington, USA, 28 September 1976). ALA operates under the Constitution of the Association latinoamericana de archivos adopted in Madrid, Spain, 1982 (published in ALA, special issue, 1986).

![]() | ARBICA - Arab Regional BranchTo further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within the Arab countries. ARBICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to ARBICA members. ARBICA operates under the Constitution of the Arab Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives adopted in Seville 1985 (published in 1986).

![]() | CARBICA - Caribbean Regional BranchTo further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within the Caribbean region. CARBICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to CARBICA members. CARBICA operates under the Constitution of the Caribbean Archives Association adopted by the second Caribbean Archives Conference, Guadeloupe and Martinique, 1975 (published in Caribbean Archives, no. 4, 1976).

![]() | CENARBICA - Central Africa Regional BranchTo further the aims of ICA and to strengthen co-operation within central Africa. CENARBICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to CENARBICA members. CENARBICA operates under its own constitution adopted at its inaugural meeting in Bangui (Central African Republic) on 24 September 1982. The branch was suspended in Seville in 2000 and reintegrated in Vienna in 2004.

EASTICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to EASTICA members. EASTICA operates under its own constitution adopted at the Branch's inaugural conference, Beijing, 1993.

ESARBICA operates under its own constitution adopted at the Branch's inaugural conference, Nairobi, 1969 and amended 1976.

EURASICA operates under its own constitution adopted at the Branch's inaugural conference, Moscow, 2000.

PARBICA is responsible for carrying out the policy and programmes of ICA in this region, where these are relevant to PARBICA members. PARBICA operates under the PARBICA Constitution adopted at the branch's ninth general conference, Palau, 2001 (replacing the constitution adopted by the inaugural conference, Fiji,1981).
